Alas, Momochi was able to reset the bracket, raising concerns about Xiao Hai being on tilt.So, actually, I wasnt nervous. I was actually too calm, Xiao Hai said. I was very, very relaxed, at least [in] my mind. However, the mind and body are separate, and so my hands werent able to keep up with what my strategy was, which was to be very patient.In reality, Xiao Hai knew he had a set to lose, and he used it as a way to condition Momochi. In a way, I used the first set to let Momochi think Momochis fight style was the correct method and then sort of used the second set against him, he said.Early into set two, Momochi continued his aggressive assault, taking the first game. But in the second game, Xiao Hais patient strategy started seeing some returns. He began to counter Momochi and suddenly didnt look so off-kilter. He took the second set, making it 1-1. This is where Xiao Hai started to run away with the match, taking another round. But Momochi was not going to go down after a bracket reset in the grand finals. He turned up his aggression yet again, forcing Xiao Hai into the corner.After the reset, if I thought too much, that would lead me into trouble, so I didnt overthink it, Xiao Hai said. Rather, I refocused on my original strategy.Xiao Hai believes that his character Cammy has an advantage over Momochis character, Ken. His standing medium kick and his crouching medium kick can be hard for Cammy to deal with it, but if Xiao Hai was able to play a strong footsie or neutral ground game, it would force Momochi to rush in and take action.
