The Los Angeles Rams have become the nomads of the NFL, and this week their home has been London. Its been that kind of year for Jeff Fisher and team. After getting permission from the league to return from St. Louis to Los Angeles in January, the Rams (3-3) have been on the move.Theyve spent the offseason, training camp and regular season in three different spots in Southern California. Four of their first six games have been on the road, with stops in San Francisco; Tampa, Florida; Glendale, Arizona; and finally Detroit last weekend.Instead of heading home after Sundays loss to the Lions, Fisher had his team board a plane for England and Sundays international series game against the New York Giants (3-3) in a stadium used mostly for rugby. They have been based in Surrey and worked out there, occasionally getting out for sightseeing.Weve been through a lot of things, Fisher said. We were reflecting earlier today on this, in essence, from an organizational standpoint, is ... this is, if you would, this is our sixth home since March, if you take into consideration all the moves, the short moves. Were kind of calling this home right now and were going to make the most of it.The Giants have taken a different road coming into the game. They posted an emotional late win over Baltimore on Sunday at home on the late heroics of Odell Beckham Jr., and decided to stay in New Jersey. Most of their pre-game preparation was completed before they boarded a flight to London on Thursday night. This is a game where we understand it is London and it is a trip and it is different than what we are accustomed to, Giants receiver Victor Cruz said. But it is a business trip at the end of the day. We have to go out and win this football game and come back into the bye on a two-game winning streak and feeling good about ourselves.Rams cornerback E.J. Gaines has enjoyed the transient nature of the season.Yeah, its been wild. It really has, Gaines said. A lot of moving, a lot of traveling, but its exciting, too. I like to travel. I like to see different things, and getting to come to a place like this is amazing. You know, growing up as a child, who would have thought Id be playing football in London? Im just excited to be here.Five things to watch in the game that will kick off at 9:30 a.m. EDT. Thats 6:30 a.m. for those Rams fans back in L.A.HEALING LINE: Three of the four starters on the Rams defensive line have missed parts of the past two games with injuries. Fisher hopes to have disruptive defensive end Robert Quinn back Sunday. Quinn and William Hayes were a full go at practice Thursday. Defensive tackle Michael Brockers missed Wednesday and Thursday with a thigh injury.GIANTS KICKER: Ben McAdoo headed to London without a kicker. Josh Brown was left home after police in the state of Washington released his journals and emails in which he admits domestic abuse against his former wife. The 37-year-old missed the season opener after the league suspended him for a violation of its personal conduct policy relating to a May 2015 arrest on domestic violence charges. McAdoo said the Giants worked out kickers on Thursday, but he would not identify them.MAJOR CASE: After his best performance of the season at Detroit, Case Keenum has made it all the way to the Rams bye week as their starting quarterback. Its a surprising development to many who expected the Rams to test No. 1 overall draft pick Jared Goff early. Fisher has refused to commit to a timeline for Goffs debut, but he has acknowledged the rookie could get a series or two at some point in the near future.HIP ISSUE: After catching eight passes for a career-best 222 yards and two touchdowns, Beckham is iffy this week. He got a hip pointer in the first half against the Ravens and has been limited at practice. Expect him to play, but if the hip acts up rookie Roger Lewis Jr., who caught his first TD last week, joins Cruz and rookie Sterling Shepard in the pass-happy offense.NO RUN: The Rams have been limited rushing this year because teams have been packing the box against Todd Gurley , the 2015 Offensive Rookie of the Year. Expect the Giants to do the same thing. Los Angeles doesnt have to worry much about New Yorks running game. Its been horrible the past few weeks. His only miss of the night came with just over seven minutes left, and the junior guard followed with a 3-pointer that made it 76-58.The sharpshooting performance followed successive outings in which Trimble went 4 for 13, 4 for 12, 4 for 8 and 2 for 4.Its good to see Melo shoot it well, coach Mark Turgeon said. Its amazing, when a shot goes in it makes everything look better. Melos been taking good shots for the most part ... but a lot of shots have been rolling out. It just doesnt feel right. But today they rolled in.Trimble figured it was only a matter of time until his shot found the bottom of the net.I had no doubt in my mind that Id have one of these games, he said. Ive been in the gym early, getting extra shots, staying after practice. I knew they were going to start falling. Just got to stick with it, stay confident.Trimble was so on target, Jacksonville State first-year coach Ray Harper couldnt remember the one that clanged off the rim.I missed that one, Harper said. I must have been turned around when he missed it. He poses problems. Hes an awfully good player. Youve got to think hell miss every now and then. Tonight, he didnt. It was his night.Michal Cekovsky scored 15 and freshman Justin Jackson had 12 points and six rebounds for the Terrapins (11-1), who took control late in the first half and received little resistance over the final 20 minutes. Maryland had six players score in double figures for the first time since February 2013, against Wake Forest.Jacara Cross and Greg Tucker each scored 10 points for Jacksonville State (5-6).dddddddddddd The Gamecocks, of the Ohio Valley Conference, were outscored at the foul line 27-12 and had two players foul out.Foul trouble just killed us, Harper said. They shot (35) free throws. Thats a lot to overcome.Trimble scored 15 in the first half, going 5 for 5 from the field with two free throws. The Terrapins trailed 17-14 before Trimble made a layup and a 3-pointer in a 19-3 run that turned the game around. Five different players scored in the spree, which helped provide Maryland a 42-29 lead at the break. They turned up the pressure a little bit, Tucker said. We went through a little period that we couldnt score and that hurt us.Trimble opened the second half by making a pair of technical foul shots and Jackson added a 3-pointer to put the Terps up by 18.The margin swelled to 20 points with 16 minutes left before the Gamecocks used a 14-4 run to get within 10. But thats as close at it got in the second half.OLD TIMESTurgeons first college head coaching job was at Jacksonville State. Turgeon took the job as a 33-year-old in 1998 and went 25-29 over two seasons.BIG PICTUREJacksonville St: The Gamecocks kept it interesting for most of the first half against the most notable team on their schedule. That bodes well for a team whose conference foes include Tennessee Tech and Southeast Missouri.Maryland: The Terps received a nice workout before taking a break for exams. Trimble led a balanced attack, which is precisely what Turgeon wants to see as the team draws closer to its Big Ten opener against Illinois on Dec. 27.UP NEXTJacksonville St: The Gamecocks stay in the area for a game in the nations capital against Howard on Wednesday night.Maryland: Following a week off, the Terrapins return to action on Dec. 20 in Baltimore against Charlotte.
